Sitting in the Fog

by Laura Glaves

  Fighting the fog is futile.
So I let it engulf me.

  Its cool mist carries me
  to that numb place
where I can breathe a little easier.

The clamor of the outside world grows muffled.
  Chatter turns to whispers.

I sit still in my fog
  and remember you.
